Ramadhan is known to be filled with goodness and kindness and it is definitely no different for graciousmart.sg In the month of Ramadhan, we have distributed over 300 packages, including new beneficiaries.
With these growing efforts, we received anonymous contributions who gave over 600 packets of 5kg rice, 200 packets of bee hoon and even 50 boxes of grade A Ajwa Dates. We have included these items for distribution with our packages to provide more food items to those in need. In addition, some food pouches were included in these packages in order to ease the for those who are unable to cook their food. It is important that they receive their necessities whilst ensuring quality items were delivered.
In light of Hari Raya, these packages consist of kuih-muihs, kerepek and frozen items like ready to eat meals from Pondok Abang. Other items include murukku, rendang, and ayam masak merah. These are food that are often consumed during the festive period. During the month, biryani and porridge were also distributed for them to break their fast, and this includes distributing to foreign workers living in dormitories. We hope that this would bring about the raya spirit in all households as much as possible.
We believe that everyone should have access to quality yet affordable food. With this in mind, we are progressively partnering with various organisations to achieve this. Recently, we were approved as one of Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) certified retailers where more beneficiaries would now have another option to purchase their necessities from.
Helping the community and feeding those in need goes a long way. It is more than alleviating households’ burdens, but also reducing the impact of food insecurity and poverty in the community. In this trying time where COVID-19 pandemic may have taken a toll on some of these families, it raises the importance of helping them even more. Let’s all continue playing our part in giving back to the community going forward.
